ADOPTION FEES
|
The reason for adoption fees:
NAPS is a registered charitable non-profit organization, operating out of a small facility, managed by a small group of unpaid dedicated volunteers. We are supported financially by generous private and corporate sponsors, public donations, grants and government Casinos.
Adoption fees are primarily put towards the large veterinary expenses incurred annually by the shelter. Initial veterinary visits for new intakes can cost the rescue up to $350 or more per animal (depending on the animals species and age), not to mention any extended veterinary costs associated with long term shelter residents (annual vaccination/de-worming/dental care, dietary needs, etc) or extreme and unexpected medical situations.
Our Adoption Fees only cover a small portion of each animals incurred veterinary expenses. We do not, in any way, profit from our adoption fees.
By choosing to adopt from NAPS you are choosing to help support contribute to our veterinary expenses for current and future animals in our care, and we appreciate your support of our cause. In addition to that, you are receiving a fully vetted animal for less than you would pay out of pocket for the same care.
PLEASE NOTE: The difference in price between a female animal and a male animal is due to a large price difference in the cost of sterilizing the animal. The cost of a neuter is substantially cheaper than the cost of a spay, as a spay is a much more invasive surgery.
