BARN CAT PROGRAM

Through our TNR (trap/neuter/release) program, we often come across feral (wild, un-tame) felines that do not show much potential for being tamed and adopted out to families.

In these instances, we will sterilize the animal, give it a tattoo and re release it where we trapped it.  This helps prevent further offspring, the spread of disease and helps Nanton establish a healthy feral cat population, keeping others at bay.

Benefits of a healthy feral cat population are covered in detail,  in the NAPS Blog section. Please take a look!

Occasionally, before re releasing the feral cats, we will offer them to the general public as barn or shop cats.  The only requirement is that you provide access to food, water, and shelter.

 - ALL NAPS Barn Cats have been spayed/neutered & tattooed.
 - Under no circumstances will we adopt out an un-sterilized barn cat.
 - We ask for a $50.00 adoption fee to help cover the expense of sterilization.
 - If you choose to adopt multiple cats at one time, adoption fee discounts are given.

If you are interested in adopting a barn cat or two from NAPS please keep a close eye on our social media posts. As they become available, we advertise them there. Adoptions of barn cats are on a first come, first serve basis.

Occasionally friendly/tame barn cats become available.  Please check out our Adoptable Cats page.  Animal profiles will mention if they would do best as barn/shop cats.
