**ADOPTED**
Name:
Topaz | Age: Approximately 11 years old
Origin: Abandoned/Surrendered
Sex: Female - Spayed | Notes: Will take awhile to come out of her shell
Type: Tortoiseshell
 - Short Haired

Topaz came to us, in 2014, and is now our longest shelter resident.  Although she is now our unofficial mascot, and the additional duties and benefits that come with the role, we would still like to see her find her forever home.

Topaz is extremely shy with strangers and will hide when she hears a new voice.  This has led her to being over-looked on so many occasions.  Once the stranger leaves, she goes back to her usual friendly self.

She was briefly placed in a home a few years back, and her Mom let NAPS know that it took about a month for her to come out of her shell.  But once she heard familiar footsteps coming down the stairs, Topaz would come out to greet family members her with her tail in the air.  Topaz enjoyed her bed - on a window ledge so she could watch the world go by - but still need a light covering over it so she could be under something while peeking out the side of the bed.  She loved being brushed (even rolling on her back so her tummy could be brushed), and chasing the laser pointer.  She does the cutest "Starsky and Hutch slide" to catch the red dot!

While in her home situation, Topaz tolerated the curiosity shown by a large-breed dog.  The existing cat - which turned out to be considerably more territorial than first thought - was another matter.  To be blunt - Topaz was bullied.  Although she got along well with the dog, a quieter home would be a better place for her.  It may also shorten the time it takes for her to adapt to her new family and surroundings.  It just needs that person who understands it's going to take awhile for her to come and see her new people as a friend.

Name: Nala | Age: 8 yrs
Origin: Abandoned/Surrendered
Sex: Female Spayed | Notes: Hair Loss
Type: Brown Tabby - Medium Haired

As very long term shelter resident we were thrilled when Nala went to her forever home.  She now enjoys training her humans, modelling the sweaters knitted by her new Mom, and roasting hot dogs on over an open fire when camping.

Picture
Name: Mogwi | Age: 3 years
Origin: Town Stray/Trapped

Sex: Male Neutered  - Type: Long Haired Tuxedo
Notes: Fun loving guy looking for his forever family!

Is having a wonderful time with his new family.  Lots of playtime with his human children friends, and on his own chasing dust in sunbeams.

Picture
Name: Toulous  | Age: 2 years | Litter: Aristocat Litter/Duchess kittens
Sex: Male Neutered - Notes: Former Shy guy turned sweety pie! - Type: Black

From feral kitten to family pet!  Life went from good to excellent for Toulous after he, and the rest of his family was trapped, and taken to NAPS, by a concerned citizen.
